GLORIOUS MYSTERIES
The Glorious Mysteries contemplate the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus, the descent of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of Mary.
They lead us to look toward the eternal life promised by God in the hope of the Resurrection.
FIRST MYSTERY
The Resurrection
Luke 24:1–8
We contemplate Jesus rising in victory over death and opening for us the hope of eternal life.
SECOND MYSTERY
The Ascension
Acts 1:6–11
We contemplate the risen Jesus entrusting his disciples with their mission and ascending into heaven.
THIRD MYSTERY
The Descent of the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:1–4
We contemplate Jesus sending the promised Holy Spirit and giving the disciples strength and courage to proclaim the Gospel.
FOURTH MYSTERY
The Assumption of Mary
Sacred Tradition
We contemplate the mystery of the Blessed Virgin Mary sharing in the glory of heaven after completing her earthly life.
FIFTH MYSTERY
The Coronation of Mary
Revelation 12:1
We contemplate the Blessed Virgin Mary, faithful to God, being glorified as Queen of heaven and earth.
